Another amazing piece. I was wondering what lens you use as I am curious. Of course that is just a small part of taking an image. I want to improve my macro ,do you use an external flash? If you need to keep this info secret then that is OK and I understand. Great work!!

Thank you! :) No secret, my setup is in my blog. :) I'm using canon 100mm L lens with tubes, closeup filter and 270 ex flash. Here's my setup [link]

Thank you! I own the non L Canon 100mm macro, I noticed some colour fringing in my last deviation [link] and wonder if this problem would disappear if I purchased the L version? I am not sure what you mean by "close up filter?) Thanks for sharing, great work. :)

The non L is as good as the L. Only advantage i know of is the Image Stabilization. I may be wrong, but color fringing usually occurs in high contrast area and this is not the case in your pic. My guess is there are some tiny droplets on the fly and the strong sun light refract some "rainbow" rays into your lens. Could happen to any lens really.

Every lens have a min focusing distance. A close up filter allows the lens to focus even closer hence creating a bigger magnification. But most closeup filter are of very poor quality. I'm using Raynox 250
