Oviposition by melvynyeo Oviposition by melvynyeo
Tapping with her antennae the wasp listens for the vibrations that indicate a host is present. With the longer ovipositor, the Wasp drills a hole through the bark, inserts the ovipositor into the cavity which contains the host larva.
Oviposition choice of a female determines the future food resources available to their offspring. As a result, it is the most critical choice a female makes for her offspring, because it will influence their growth, survival, and future reproduction.

I love these wasps.

The coolest one here lays its eggs in a parasite that is already inside another insect. Nature is a bit scary some times :P
